Product Overview
Product Types & Key Features
Mineral-Based Transformer Oil which derived from refined petroleum fractions (mainly naphthenic and paraffinic crude oil), this type is the most widely used transformer oil with a history of nearly a century. It features excellent dielectric properties, cost-effectiveness, and mature production technology, making it the ideal choice for ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage power transformers. Our mineral-based transformer oil adopts advanced hydrogenation technology, which significantly improves oxidation stability, extends service life, and reduces sludge formation compared to traditional refining processes. It has a relative density of approximately 0.895, a freezing point below -45℃, and a flash point above 140℃, ensuring stable performance in most climatic environments.
Core Functions
-
Insulation Protection: With a dielectric constant of 2.25 (compared to 1.0 for air), transformer oil provides excellent electrical insulation, preventing short circuits and arcing between live components (windings, core, and tank). It penetrates into the gaps of fiber insulation materials, enhancing overall insulation strength and protecting equipment from electrical breakdown under long-term operating voltage and impact voltage.
-
Heat Dissipation & Cooling: Transformer oil has a high specific heat capacity (approximately 0.5 cal/g·℃) and good thermal conductivity. It absorbs heat generated by copper loss and iron loss during transformer operation, circulates through natural convection or forced cooling (fans, oil pumps), and dissipates heat through radiators, ensuring the equipment operates within the optimal temperature range.
-
Arc Extinguishing: In oil circuit breakers and on-load tap changers, it effectively extinguishes electric arcs generated during switching operations, reducing wear on contacts and protecting equipment from damage.
-
Component Protection: It isolates the transformer’s core, windings, and other components from air and moisture, preventing rust and moisture erosion. Additionally, it minimizes the oxidation of cellulose insulation materials, extending the service life of both the oil and the equipment.
-
Condition Monitoring: As an information carrier, the oil’s physical and chemical properties (such as acid value, viscosity, and breakdown voltage) change with equipment degradation, enabling real-time monitoring of transformer health through oil testing.
Technical Advantages
-
Strict Quality Control: Our transformer oil undergoes rigorous testing throughout the production process, ensuring low impurity content (no PCBs), stable dielectric properties, and compliance with international standards.
-
Wide Temperature Adaptability: With pour points ranging from -10℃ to -55℃ (for different grades), it maintains fluidity and performance in both high-temperature and extremely cold regions (e.g., -45℃ for grade 45).
-
Long Service Life: Advanced refining and additive technologies reduce oxidation and sludge formation, extending the oil’s service life and reducing maintenance costs for customers.
-
Environmentally Friendly Options: Our vegetable-based and synthetic ester transformer oils meet global environmental standards, supporting green energy development and reducing environmental impact in case of leakage.
Application Scenarios

-
Power Transformers: Used in power generation plants, substations, and grid transmission systems (330kV and below for standard grades, ultra-high voltage for specialized grades).
-
Distribution Transformers: Applied in urban and rural distribution networks, industrial parks, and commercial buildings to ensure stable power supply to end users.
-
Specialized Equipment: Suitable for instrument transformers, oil-filled bushings, oil circuit breakers, and transformers in renewable energy projects (wind farms, solar power plants) and railway systems.
-
Harsh Environments: Customized formulations for extreme cold, high temperature, and environmentally sensitive areas (e.g., offshore, forests, and residential zones).
